Hundreds of trees in West Jakarta were pruned in April 2017. The effort was aimed to prevent fallen tree that endangers people.
The most pruning was in Cengkareng and Kalideres Sub-district, and the lowest was in Taman Sari Sub-district
"641 trees were pruned in April. 238 were light pruning, 64 were medium pruning, and 339 were heavy pruning," said M Aris Firmansyah, West Jakarta Head Sub-dept. of Forestry, Monday (5/8).
According to him, tree pruning was also applied since the branches covered the traffic signs, street lamps, and too shady.
